AutoMEP is AI and can make mistakes

AutoMEP uses AI to work out what your request means for your drawing. That is a judgment, and judgments are sometimes wrong.

A finished job is not a checked job. AutoMEP marks a job complete when every change it set out to make went into the drawing without an error. It cannot tell you whether the result is what you meant, or whether it is right for the building. Treat every result as a draft from a capable assistant, not as coordinated design.

Where it is most likely to be wrong

Position. Placing something "in the center of the lower room" or "a meter and a half off the wall" depends on reading walls and rooms out of the geometry. On an as built drawing, walls are often loose lines rather than closed shapes, and the stated drawing units are frequently wrong. When AutoMEP cannot tell, it asks. When it can, it measures and tells you what it measured from.

Sizing. Duct, pipe and drain sizes come from published standards applied to the numbers in your prompt. If the load, the flow or the pressure drop is not what you meant, the size will be confidently wrong. Sizes are shown with the rule they came from, so check the rule as well as the number.

Big requests. A request that would take a whole afternoon by hand is applied in passes. The most important changes go first, and AutoMEP tells you when there is more to do. Submit the same request again to continue from there.

Anything it invented. AutoMEP will not make up panel schedules, circuit numbers or equipment data it was not given. If a result contains a number you did not supply and cannot trace, treat it as a placeholder.

What to do about it

Your original file is never modified. Every job writes a new version, so you can always go back to what you uploaded. Open the result in the viewer before you download it, read the notes on the job, and check the parts of the drawing you asked about against the parts you did not.

When something is wrong, tell us with the thumbs down on the job. That sends us the drawing and the request together, which is what lets us reproduce it. Several of the changes shipped this month came from exactly that.

You are still the engineer of record. AutoMEP does not stamp drawings, does not check code compliance for your jurisdiction, and does not replace review. It does the drafting.
