Can AutoMEP hatch a mechanical room or a floor area?

Yes. Name the area and the pattern you want, for example "hatch the Laundry room as a mechanical equipment room and hatch the Kitchen floor area, each on its own layer".

You do not have to pick an internal point. AutoMEP builds the boundary itself from the area you named, so there is no unclosed boundary to chase and no gap in a wall to hunt down first. It can also hatch a closed polyline that is already in your drawing if you would rather it used yours.

Ask for it light if you want the plan readable underneath, and each hatch goes on its own layer so you can turn one off without touching the other. Common uses are mechanical and electrical room boundaries, plenum areas, equipment footprints, and fire rated assemblies.
