Can AutoMEP coordinate my drawings or check for clashes between trades?
No. AutoMEP doesn't compare one trade's drawing against another's, find where ducts, pipes, conduit and structure run into each other, or give you a clash report to work through. Coordination between trades still happens in your own review, with the tools your team uses for it.
What AutoMEP does is edit your drawings, one at a time, from a plain-English request.
If your AutoCAD drawing links to the architectural plan (an xref), add that file to the same project. AutoMEP reads its walls and room names as if they were in your drawing, so new ducts and pipes are routed around those walls and your requests can name rooms from the linked plan. It only reads linked drawings and never changes them.
Once your review settles what has to change, describe it as a request, for example "move the supply duct in the corridor closer to the north wall" or "delete the cold water branch to the kitchen and run a new one along the east wall". AutoMEP can move or delete what's already in your drawing as well as draw new runs. To make the same change on other drawings in the project, open Also run on other drawings below the request box. Each drawing runs as its own job and uses usage the same way a separate request would.
AutoMEP doesn't check clearances between trades, so look over each result the way you'd check a draft before it goes back into coordination. Why every result needs a check
