How do I make my first edit?

About this video
Start to finish it is four steps, and three of them are waiting.
  • Create a project and pick your DWG or Revit file in the same step. The file uploads with the project.
  • The project page opens with your drawing already on it, in the files list on the left and as "Original upload" on the right.
  • Type the change you want in the box at the bottom, in English or another language, and submit it.
  • When it finishes, preview the result in the browser and download the drawing, the PDF, or both.

Those steps are Expert mode. In Guided mode the AutoMEP Agent asks for the same details one question at a time, sets up the project and sends your first request when you press Submit, and the project then opens as a chat with your results in it. More on Guided and Expert modes.

Say it the way you would say it to a drafter. "Add a 400 CFM supply air duct from the Laundry to the Living room and label it with its size and airflow" is a good request. "Improve the HVAC" is not, because it does not say what finished looks like.

You do not need to name layers, pick coordinates, or install anything. AutoMEP reads your file first, including its layers, blocks and room labels, then plans the edit against what is actually in it.
